My NEW Truss Dob 12"Intelliscope / Miniperch

and Celestial Fieldcase

Finally, after reading the bible of telescope building, "the Kriege/Berry book", cover to cover 4 or 5 times over the last 6 years, I built my first telescope. It has the primary from my Orion XT 12 and the Intelliscope encoders and hand control. I upgraded the focuser with a Feather Touch and also the spider and secondary are from ProtoStar, and I have a shroud on the way from Shrouds by Heather.

We Meet At Last at the Peach State Star Gaze '08!

After nearly 4 years of doing business together we finally meet. Jim Fly and I started a partnership in 2005, when I started building Jim's Catsperch Observing Chairs, and have been in almost constant communications since. But we had never. He finally convinced me to drive 13 hours from Michigan to the Peach State Star Gaze 2008. He just kept telling me "Don't think about it ... just put your stuff in the car and come on". What a Great Time we had !

Wood Wonders Workshop

I have always heard "Look to Your Passion in Life" , and, making wooden creations is a passion I have carried my entire life. I have been involved with wood working since I was 6 years old , just tall enough to use a jig saw. My father, a toolmaker by trade, had an extensive wood shop and passed on the knowledge of a craftsman. He also passed on the core belief that everything I made must be of utmost quality. I start at the sawmill by hand selecting boards that have the best and most characteristic grain. I then make certain that attention to detail and quality are top priority. I always strive to make works of art, to be passed on to the next generation.
